P6 and P7 thoroughly enjoyed their informative zoom smokebusters seminar from CancerFocusNi.
The programme is designed for P6 & P7 children, this memorable and fun-filled learning experience aims to educate on the harmful effects of smoking and why children should never start. The children learnt about the danger of vapes and vaping was an important part of the programme. Pupils were enlightened about second-hand smoke and how to avoid it. They became aware of addiction to substances and developed skills to exercise self-control. They also learnt about the harmful effects of cigarette chemicals and completed a role play. This was used to empower pupils to resist experimentation and help pupils achieve smoke-free environments.
