In our school the voice of the children is important and so we have a School Council. The School Council is made up of two representatives from each class who have been voted by their classmates. Their aim is to represent all pupils with a view to positive change.
The School Council usually meets monthly to discuss a range of topics, such as making improvements to our school and planning forthcoming events. They help everyone to make decisions to make the school better and also help to look after the school and the equipment in it. After each meeting, School Council representatives give feedback to their classmates about what was discussed.
In addition we also have an Eco Team, Digital Leaders and Librarians which consists of P7 pupils. These teams work hard throughout the year to improve our school in lots of ways. They assist the teachers during important days like world book day and internet safety day. They take on roles to look after our resources in school and support our younger pupils in a variety of ways. At the beginning of the year they come together to plan what they would like to do and devise actions that they need to complete. They meet regularly with their assigned teacher and are given time each week to work together on their ideas.
