School Trip Florence Court House and Gardens

17th Jun 2026

Primary 1, 2 and 3 had a wonderful time on their end-of-year trip to Florence Court! From the moment they stepped onto the bus until it was time to head home, excitement filled the air.

During the journey and throughout the day, the children enjoyed discussing the different things they might find in nature and what they might find in a factory. As they explored the forest, they listened carefully to all the sounds around them and discovered just how much wildlife can be heard in nature.

The children were introduced to an owl, a hedgehog and a squirrel, and were challenged to use natural materials to create comfortable homes for them. They thoroughly enjoyed this activity and showed great creativity.

Once their animal homes were complete, the children used magnifying glasses to investigate the tiny creatures living around them. They discovered a variety of insects, including centipedes, spiders and ladybirds, which sparked lots of curiosity and excitement.

To finish off a fantastic day, the children spent some much-anticipated time in the park, where they had great fun playing together. It was a memorable trip filled with learning, exploration and laughter, and everyone had a wonderful time!
